Yummy buffet experience at Sambo Kojin SM Fairview

Yummy buffet experience at Sambo Kojin SM Fairview

For months, I've been drooling over Sambo Kojin's Instagram post everyday. Living up North, there are a few buffet restaurants in the three malls situated in our area.

Last month, they opened their sixth branch located at SM City Fairview's Annex 2. I was supposed to visit during their opening day last August 24, but my trip to Cebu was scheduled the following day. My Southies friends always teased me that I should try Sambo Kojin if I visit our client, SM Southmall. Good thing there's one in SM Fairview.

Just this morning, I was delighted to be one of the food bloggers to try authentic Japanese yakiniku and Korean cuisine at Sambo Kojin. Upon entering the spacious buffet restaurant, I was stunned over their yummy pastries, fresh fruits, and desserts to crave on.

I love Japanese and Korean food! When I was about to check out what makes Sambo Kojin as haven of foodies here in our area, I can't get enough of sushi bar favorites, katsu, okonomiyaki and takoyaki (my favorite!). Don't forget to try their bibimbap, chapchae, and pajeon!

After hours of eating some of the food offerings at Sambo Kojin: Food coma is real! I love how they served the best Japanese and Korean cuisine in a buffet.

Last November 25, I was invited to the relaunch of Relik Restaurant and Bar around BGC area.

According to Chef Benjo Tuason, the guy behind Relik's delicious dishes, "We like to keep our dishes effortlessly good. No matter how many trends there are in food at the moment, nothing beats simple food, with the right ingredients, done properly and executed well."

Relik's Nachos was served to us before the event started.

Relik's Beef Salpicao

Going Japanese at Go-En

Going Japanese at Go-En

The first thing that came into my mind whenever I saw photos of ramen on Instagram: famous Japanese food.

Few weeks ago, I was invited to try out a ramen restaurant called Go-En which located near ABS-CBN. Upon entering the place, I was greeted by the one of the owners, John Goren.  The ambiance brought me to the ancient Japan. Fond of everything Japanese, I was delighted to learn how to play traditional Japanese toy called Kendama and if you visit this quaint place, you can read a wide array of Manga while waiting for your orders.

Go-En Ramen Shoppe founded in 2012 by John Geron and Marilyn Pefianco. Go-en coin used to symbolize either 5 yen or good luck in relationships.

Our group got a chance to try on different kinds of ramen such as Tantamen (one of my favorites among the meals that served during that afternoon), Karaage, Wonton Tomato, and Kara-age Kare.

You can buy these Japanese traditional toy, Kendama at Go-En.

They also served the spicy version of some of the ramens that day. I like how they presented it and the price is affordable. If you love ramen, I recommend you to try their meals such as Cheese Ramen, Karamiso, Tonkatsu, and Gyoza. You can check out Go-En's official website or visit them at Jardin de Zenaida, Unit B1 #34 Sgt. Authentic Cantonese cuisine at Choi Garden Megamall

Several days ago, I was invited to try out Choi Garden's newest branch in Megamall. Fond of eating dimsums since I was a kid, I rediscovered how yummy is the Cantonese cuisines served at Choi Garden.

One of their specialities is create your own Shabu-Shabu Noodle Soup. I chose Hong Kong Noodle, added up with Szechuan Spicy Soup and completed the soup with Hong Kong Beef Ball, Beef Brisket Tendon, and Sea Urchin Bun which also comes with a Soy Egg. Perfect for cold weather and for those who loves noodles.

If you're into pork bun, I devoured over Choi Garden's very own Asado Bun. Other meals that our group tasted are Steamed Siomai, Steamed Hakaw, and Sweet and Sour Pork.

Do you love to eat desserts? Craving for crepes?

Sugar rush in! Few days ago, I visited a newly opened buffet restaurant called Love Desserts.  This is their second branch which is located at Pearl Drive Commercial Centre in Fairview, Quezon City.

Upon entering this dainty place, drooled over wide array of cakes and other sweet finds that they offered to their customers.

When I visited the joint with two fellow bloggers, it was jampacked! Students from nearby schools and pastries aficionados lined up in the buffet area were among frequent visitors of this fab restaurant.

From eclairs to crepes, you name it..they have it! I had food coma after I tried out their sweet offerings.

Tried their Dynamite Lumpia.

Healthy meals from Fisher Farms

Healthy meals from Fisher Farms

Holy Week is fast approaching. And for the past few weeks, I was stunned over the variety of products by Fisher Farms. Some people always says that if you want to shred some pounds, you must eat healthy meals like seafood.

I love eating milkfish or bangus. When I found out that they have longanisa, nuggets and sausages made from fish meat, it tasted so good.  One of the best things about Fisher Farms' delectable products are it doesn't added preservatives and good source of protein.

One of my favorite Fisher Farms products is the Bangus Lemon Butter. It was deboned milkfish belly with tangy lemon butter sauce, you can microwave it and can served for 2-4 servings.

One of my favorites, Fisher Farms Bangus Lemon Butter.

Did you know that Fisher Farms grows its milkfish in the seawaters of Pangasinan? For more flavorful, and cleaner fish, they put it up in fish cages and fed them with high protein feeds.

Beefed up with Jollibee’s ambassador Bamboo

Beefed up with Jollibee’s ambassador Bamboo

The largest fast food chain in the Philippines, Jollibee announced The Voice Philippines coach Bamboo Mañalac as their brand ambassador.

He was known as the former frontman of Rivermaya and also with a number of best-selling albums and sold-out concerts under his belt. I saw him performed in an international music festival in 2005. He's such an awesome and a cool guy.

“People always associate musicians with being cool or astig. They think we’re unapproachable, but I’m really just a regular guy who enjoys the simple things in life,” he said.

Last January 21, an event that was held at Craft Pub and Grill, he did a jamming session with the bloggers. As they sang Halleluia, 214, Elesi and Tatsulok, indeed an amazing night.

He recently endorsed Jollibee's Garlic Beef Pepper which it's delicious and it's only P 50 pesos.

Going Korean at Woo Galbi

Going Korean at Woo Galbi

Two months ago, I met up with fellow foodie blogger, Edel San and decided to do our unplanned lunch at Woo Galbi, Shangri-La Plaza branch.

Woo Galbi
Woo Galbi

Woo Galbi is a fine dining Korean restaurant which serves the best Korean cuisine in town! What I love Woo Galbi is that the place makes me feel that I'm in Korea....the interiors, just wow! Courteous staff welcomed us upon entering the said food joint.

We ordered Dwenjang Jjigae (paste stew with seafoods and tofu), and California Roll. I thought Woo Galbi's expensive but upon checking their menu, you can eat Bibimbap for 420 pesos!

The best Dwenjang Jjigae that I ever tasted...nom nom nom!

Appetizers that makes us drool!
The modern interior mixed up with Korean tradition makes Woo Galbi one of the best restaurants in the area.

Stoked over Craft Series: Pulutan at Niner Ichi Nana

Stoked over Craft Series: Pulutan at Niner Ichi Nana

When was the last time I have a great time in a bar? Hmmm...that was ages, LOL! With great drinks and foods, some of my friends asked me on how I can still chillax despite of my uber hectic sched at work and other online commitments. Staying late at night with beer and chips on the side while finishing some articles at work.

Last October 16, I was invited to try out the latest Craft Series by Niner Ichi Nana and the theme for the month was Pulutan. It's a night of creative, fun, and exciting eat and drink event every Thursday wherein the food and cocktails are specially prepared by Chef Mikko Reyes and fellow foodie blogger Erwan Heussaff.

In case you didn't know Niner Ichi Nana means '917' which is located at the ground floor of The Globe Tower, and adjacent to English gastro pub inspired The Hungry Hound.

Great night at Niner Ichi Nana

Upon entering Niner, all I want to do is to unwind after a 16 hours workload from my tasks online. It's been a long time that I went to a bar and get onto the glass of cocktail...away from my lappy and enjoy the entire night.

While waiting some of my blogger friends, I was curious on the menu that was given to us that night. One particular Panulak catched my attention: Happy Horse. It's a fusion of Bacardi, House Pineapple Lemon Soda, Cointreau, and Paulaner. I was literally stoked when I shared my drink to fellow blogger, Rejj. Been drinking occasionally but Happy Horse gave me the urge to try out a lot of cocktail drinks.

One drink that made my night: Happy Horse! It's not too strong but I'll recommend it for those who want to chillax. Stoked!

Other drinks that they served that night are Pom Before Prom (mixture of Bombay Sapphire, Pomelo Scrubs, Elderflower, Mint Leaves, and Simple Syrup), Three In One (Hennessy VS, Cold Press coffee, condensed milk, Mole Bitters, Vanilla Tinoture, and egg white) which I was supposed to try out that night and Traitor Tetra (Bourbon, Jerry Thomas bitters, Mango Puree, Orange Juice, Orgeat, and Lime Juice) which was served in a tetra pack...amazeballs!

Meanwhile on the pika pika side, love their Legit Sisig, Tokwa't Baboy, Oyster Sinuglaw and my favorite Sizzling Foie and Shrooms! Overall, I love the concept of the Craft Series and cozy feeling when I get in Niner! Creative yet stoked over on how it served like the Traitor Tetra! Can't wait for another Craft Series next month!
